LOOK AT ME!

LOOK AT ME! is a debut series that marks the true beginning of my practice in the contemporary field. More than that, it is the first fully realized body of work that pushed me into a new appreciation for modern art and the way that it could be used as a vehicle for self expression. What started as a satirical prompt born out of the irony of human greed, became a much deeper and more intimate relationship with my own thoughts on human behavior as a whole, and my response to numerous political and social issues prevalent in the culture and media that surrounded me. I was forced to come to terms with an unknown variable in my artwork, and took that variable and made it work for me. I followed every brushstroke through, without any plan on where they would potentially end up. As a result, LOOK AT ME! became an instrument of freedom, and above all else, allowed me to open a fresh chapter of creativity in an otherwise creatively dim part of my life.
